Deschutes Kayakers original artwork

About a five-minute walk from my house, there’s a forty-acre plot of National Forest land, right on the Deschutes River, perfect for kayakers. It’s a dream. We walk the dog (and the kids!) there nearly everyday, in snow, slush and sun. There’s a great view of Mount Bachelor. 

It’s our daily reprieve from the hustle of raising two toddlers, managing our house and running our business. And I thought it was high time I painted it. I’ve been challenging myself to paint outdoor scenes in colors other than blue and green. While they are my favorite colors, one can get sick of the limited palette. So I chose purple, teal and yellow for this one.
